Protect Your Pet

Pets are vulnerable to flea infestation whenever outdoors. Mild cases of fleas usually cause itching and skin irritation, but ingesting fleas (usually while your pet is trying to relieve an itch) can transmit other dangerous parasites such as tapeworms.

Some animals have allergic reactions to flea infestation, and severe cases can result in anemia or even death due to blood loss. These dangers make preventing & treating flea bites important for any pet owner.

Types of Medication

Flea & Tick prevention medicines are available in many forms including sprays, wipes, powders, shampoos, foams and dips, but the vast majority of pet owners choose to protect their pets with monthly oral tablets or ‘spot-on topicals’. Convenient and effective, one dose of tables or one application of liquid drops to a specific spot on the skin, and fleas are gone for a month.

Does your pet wander?

Microchipping is an excellent & reliable solution for keeping track of your pet should he/she decide to take a stroll without you knowing. At White Oak Animal Hospital, we use Home Again microchips.
